8th Annual AFABW Arts Festival

October 11, 2008 – Hollywood: Today was a big day at the 8th annual Artists For A Better World Arts Festival held at Celebrity Centre International. Today’s activities included lots of art, music, dance, education and performances. Additionally, The Way to Happiness boat was on display and featured live music. The Volunteer Minister’s tent was set up nearby with information about the social betterment programs of the Association for Better Living and Education International (ABLE Int).

Today’s festival highlights included:

Fine Art Exhibitions, directed by fine artist, Petrina Sharp.
The Kids Creative Corner, which included face painting as well as arts activities for kids.

A Live Poetry Reading was hosted by best-selling author and acclaimed poet, Tracy Repchuk.

The Visual Arts Seminar was presented by professional advertising and fine art photographer, David McCullough.

Producing Your Own Music at Home or Anywhere was a seminar produced by award-winning songwriter/composer/producer/engineer Randall Michael Tobin.

A Songwriters Showcase with a variety of talented Singers/Songwriters was produced by Platinum Songwriter/Recording Artist, Harriet Schock.

There was also Live Drawing of models, hosted by professional artists, Ian Espinoza and Julie Snyder.

LA Music Songwriter of the Year, Dee Dee O’Malley, hosted her Songwriter’s Workshop.

And the final event of the day was the AFABW Awards Event and Concert which featured dancing, lots of music and of course the “Better World Awards,” acknowledging top artists in the community who are changing conditions for the better, and produced by Barbara Cordova Oliver.

Tomorrow promises much more music, education, performances and fine artwork at the 8th annual AFABW Arts Festival.
