8th Annual AFABW Arts Festival

October 12, 2008 – Hollywood: Another big day was created at the Artists For A Better World 8th Annual Arts Festival on the grounds of Celebrity Centre International. Today’s activities included more fine art, much more dance and music, as well as even more education and performances. The Way to Happiness boat continued as a fun display right near the Volunteer Minister’s tent, which presented the social betterment programs of the Association for Better Living and Education International (ABLE Int).

Today’s festival highlights included:

Award-Winning Toastmasters Club, the Renaissance Speakers, gave the day a rousing jump start with the art of public speaking
Fine Art Exhibitions, directed by fine artist, Petrina Sharp
The Kids Creative Corner, which included face painting as well as arts activities for kids.

Understanding the Film Business & How You Fit in as A Writer with award winning Producer and Director, Eric Sherman
Vocal Breakthroughs Workshop with Jeannie Deva
“Battle of the Best” Concert including a Drum Circle and North Star Music Awards, Produced by Festival Director, Tom Fair
Jazz Vocal Workshop about the art of jazz singing with a trio, presented by International Performer, Teacher, Composer and Producer, Cathy Segal Garcia
Open Mic hosted by Bud Hayes

Artists For A Better World International contributes to raising the awareness about the power the artist has in forwarding social betterment. In addition to the annual Arts Festival, AFABW creates music CDs, poetry anthologies, short story books, visual art calendars and other collaborative creative projects that include artists from around the globe, all themed around the concept of creating a better world through aesthetics.
