Mountain Stage New Song Festival, West Virginia

August 22, 2004 – Charles Town, West Virginia: Artists For A Better World Founder, Barbara Oliver, participated in the Mountain Stage New Song Festival. Musicians near and far joined together to get their messages out, and to offer each other creative support during this 3-day event. A popular song contest was featured as well as performances and educational seminars. Barbara connected up to many east coast musicians, as well as those who came from other states to participate in the festival.

Professionals as well as up-and-coming performers shared the main stage throughout the festival. Barbara performed at a couple venues and promoted Artists For A Better World, encouraging musicians to find out more and get connected.

Networking was popular with many of the attendees, and Barbara came home with a number of contacts to stay in touch with. While there she also took over the running of one of the Open Mics and encouraged musicians to participate. A number of the performers were members of the Washington DC Songwriters Association.

Barbara networked with many artists and groups, and exchanged the mutual support and camaraderie of like-minded performing artists and remarked, “It’s vital that we all stay connected and flow from a small, yet mighty river, into the mainstream!”

Barbara invited her new friends to connect up to Artists For A Better World and to perform at Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, and also forwarded the AFABW ideals of building a worldwide network of artists who share a vision of creating a better world through aesthetics.
