2020 “Creating A Better World” Awards
April 15, 2020 – Los Angeles: Today, on World Art Day, the birthday of Leonardo Da Vinci, two outstanding artists are recognized as Artists For A Better World International “Creating A Better World” award recipients.
Portrait painter Allison Adams from California and Author/Illustrator Richard Rensberry of Michigan, are honored for using their artistic ability to enhance the lives of those they have touched through their art.
Jeannette Hay, founder of Artists For A Better World International said: “The awards speak to the belief that artists can use their artistic abilities to help create a better world for everyone’s benefit.”
George Alger, long-time president of the group remarked, “Artists For A Better World International reflects a global spirit that has shined through artists from antiquity to the present as a light of cultural inspiration.”
MS. ALLISON ADAMS
Ms. Allison Adams is the recipient of the 2020 Artists For A Better World International, SETTING A GOOD ARTISTIC EXAMPLE AWARD, “For setting a good example as an artist towards the creation of a better world by encouraging and helping other artists gain self-empowerment and inspiration.”
She has said regarding her Groundbreaking Girls project that began simply as a search for inspiration after she lost her husband from a tragic motorcycle accident, “Through my work, I hope to capture something of the spirits of these women who would certainly be cheering us on today” and that “My hope is that through my artwork, I can help build a better world by reminding women and girls of their true heritage while honoring the lives of the women themselves. I believe their ideas never died and through us, they have the power to live on. It’s our responsibility to find these sparks inside ourselves. As we reach back in history and are inspired by those who came before, we can, through the way we live our own lives, empower the confidence and bravery of future generations. This is how the best of humanity continues and how the world can change in wonderful ways.”
MR. RICHARD RENSBERRY
Mr. Richard Rensberry who is the recipient of the 2020 Artists For A Better World International, OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION AS AN ARTIST AWARD “For outstanding contribution of your art and creative abilities towards the creation of a better world through dedicated service as a community volunteer.”
Through his company called QuickTurtle Books® he has reached over 300,000 children on the truth about drugs and the dangers of vaping, written and illustrated with his wife Mary, also a writer and illustrator.
To help businesses he also used his talents to write and illustrate books from his company called Books Make Booms in which he writes and illustrates custom books to help businesses boom. Richard says about why he uses his creative talents in this manner, “I have spent over 15 years creating and using my artwork to raise money for drug prevention and education for kids. My mission as an artist is to help create a better future and a better world through all of my creative endeavors.”
