AFABW Int Celebrities Perform For Over 2.5 Million in Africa

July 28, 2005 – Adisadel Park, Ghana, Africa: AFABW Int celebrities Jim Moseley “The Boneman,” and Tumi Ansah performed live on TV Africa for over 2.5 million viewers during the week of the African Panafest festival. As well, Jim and Tumi, accompanied by Rev. Alvin McKinney, performed for over 10 thousand as part of the Panafest festival itself. Jim, Tumi and Rev. Alvin McKinney are featured on the AFABW Int Africa compilation CD which includes global artists “United by a theme that endorses multicultural, uplifting and inspirational ideals” as noted by AFABW Int President, George Alger, “who beheld a vision supporting the spirit and peoples of Africa.”

Jim, Tumi and Rev. Elizabeth McKinney presented the AFABW Int Africa music compilation CD to King Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II on behalf of Artists For A Better World International and Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood, California.

Panafest (panafest.org) is dedicated to the enhancement of the ideals of Pan-Africanism as well as the development of the African continent. It is organized every other year for Africans, for persons of African descent, and for all who are committed to the well being of Africans on the Continent. The goals of Panafest are to establish the truth about the history of Africa and the experiences of the African people, by way of the vehicle of African arts and culture. Panafest may be considered the most prestigious and most relevant cultural event on the African continent.

The African Union (formerly the Organization of African Unity) has endorsed Panafest as an important cultural program and is held under the auspices of the African Union and the Government of Ghana. Panafest also enjoys the support of other international organizations and bodies. Additional financial support comes from the private sector and the public at large.

Jim Moseley “The Boneman” is a singing, dancing trombone player and has performed with Henry Mancini, Frank Sinatra and jazz sax legend Grover Washington, Jr. Tumi Ansah is a native Ghananian living in Pasadena, California and is a renowned songwriter/performer in the World Music genre. Saxophone player, Rev. Alvin McKinney, is also a native Ghananian residing in Los Angeles and is a music teacher in the LA school district. All traveled to Ghana from Los Angeles to represent Artists For A Better World International and the AFABW Int Africa CD at Panafest, at the invitation of King Osabarimba Kwesi Atta II.

During the week of Panafest activities, Jim and Tumi were interviewed and performed live on two separate evenings for TV Africa, which is the largest television station on the continent of Africa. Jim and Tumi discussed Panafest, AFABW Int and the AFABW Int Africa music compilation CD and also performed live on the TV programs, accompanied by four top African rhythm players. Both broadcasts reached an excess of 2.5 million viewers from Kenya to South Africa. Jim and Tumi played several original compositions including “No Place Like Africa,” written by Tumi.
