Justine Sprague – KTLA Kids LA

October 26, 2002 – Los Angeles: Celebrating youth and families for the 7th consecutive year, KTLA Kids Day L. A. was held in Exposition Park on Saturday, bringing together families and service providers for a fun and festive day; all for free.

Artists For A Better World “Outstanding Young Artist” Award Recipient, Justine Sprague, sang the national anthem for Los Angeles Mayor, James Hahn, and 1500 attendees right before the Mayor kicked off KTLA Kids Day LA as part of the Opening Ceremony.

Ms. Sprague introduced herself to the crowd and Mayor as representing Artists For A Better World with the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International in Hollywood.

Ms. Sprague later remarked that, “Artists can and should use their abilities to inspire the creation of a better world.”

KTLA Kids Day L. A. was sponsored by TV station KTLA and the City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department and included hands-on arts and crafts, sports activities and clinics provided by area sports teams and a mobile skate unit for skate boarders. In addition there were two stages of children’s entertainment including dances from around the world; magic; martial arts demonstrations; theatrical productions; music performances and much more.

Portions of the events were broadcast on KTLA Channel 5’s evening news.
