Malaysian Mail Artist
November 30, 2024 – Los Angeles: Luqman Rosnan is one of the featured Mail Artists selected for the Artists For A Better World International 2024 Global Call for Mail Art.
Luqman is an emerging visual artist based in Malaysia, born in Balik Pulau, Penang in 1999. He graduated with a Fine Art Diploma from the National Academy of Arts, Culture, and Heritage (ASWARA) in 2020.
Since 2018, Luqman has been actively involved in both local and international art scenes, participating in various group exhibitions and workshops across the globe.
His notable international exhibitions include:
- International Miniature Art Biennale in Timișoara, Romania (2022)
- International Art Workshop and Exhibition in Naggar Kullu, Himachal Pradesh, India (2024)
- International Mail Art Exhibition “BLACK and WHITE STORIES” in Turkey (2024)
- Artists For A Better World International Global Call for Mail Art, themed “Uplifting” (2024)
Additionally, he has been part of cultural exchange exhibitions, such as:
- The Malaysia-China Art and Cultural Exchange Exhibition in Yan’an, China (2024)

- SUB, a Group Exhibition of Alternative Paintings at Titikmerah in Kuala Lumpur.
Luqman is known for his distinctive artistic approach, blending elements of contemporary and traditional practices, and continues to actively produce and exhibit art both domestically and internationally. His works often explore a variety of themes, with a focus on expanding the boundaries of visual art through new media and formats.
In the above interview for Our Ventura TV, Luqman describes Mail Art as a unique form of artistic expression that leverages the postal system to bypass traditional gallery spaces, offering artists an alternative way to share their work with a wider audience. The concept of Mail Art is simple: artists create postcard-sized artwork and mail it, often incorporating stamps and postmarks into their work.
