Layers

Let go of misconceptions,
Let slip away stereotypes, striated by
Preconceived notions,
Falling in the manner of autumn leaves,
Like the last fragments that recede of the day
Replaced by stars,
A beating heart,
That shines for peace,
Democracy,
The chance for people to
Understand,
And find commonalities.

When you open your heart,
You open the possibilities for your art,
For your best life to start,
And discover the layers
Of who you are.
